Week 8 of Your Pregnancy
>>Another update from Parenting Weekly..
Your Pregnant Body
Feeling a little off
Hernee, you might be feeling a little off now as your body begins adjusting to your baby growing inside of you. Your uterus is about the size of an orange now and your waistline is expanding, even though you are probably the only one who can really tell. Your breasts may also feel heavier and too large for your bra. You can expect to increase your bust size by a full cup (or two!) over the course of your pregnancy. Other women who are in the same stage of pregnancy as you are a great resource for information, friendship...and commiseration! Visit PregnancyWeekly's message boards and meet women who are due the same month you!

Your Baby
A very busy developmental stageAn ultrasound done at this stage will show your baby's fluttering heartbeat. Your baby is between 0.56 and 0.8 inches from crown to rump or about the size of a grape. Its liver is churning out large amounts of red blood cells, and will continue to until bone marrow forms and takes over this function. Week eight marks the beginning of a very busy developmental stage: your baby's face continues to change as the ears, eyes and the tip of the nose appear; the intestines start to form in the umbilical cord; and its teeth begin to develop under the gums.
